Wirrina Coastline Walk
A 3 to 4 hour guided walk featuring a historic cave, a prehistoric beach, an upside-down cliff, over 1700 million years of geology, the Tjilbruke story and a spectacular western Fleurieu coastline at low tide.
What to bring: sturdy enclosed shoes, camera, water, sunscreen hat & sunglasses, and clothing appropriate for weather forecast.
Moderate agility is required for this tour. Due to the rough natural terrain surfaces we walk over, this tour is unsuitable for prams, wheelchairs, or anyone with mobility or balance problems. Young children (and their specimen collections) may need to be carried by their parents. You must have sturdy enclosed footwear to do this walk because some of it requires walking across rough rocks, boulders and loose pebbles. NO thongs, sandals, crocs, flats, moccasins, high heels or bare feet allowed on tour.
2 to 11 people per tour. Meet at the HMAS Hobart Memorial Lookout, 5km southwest of Normanville by road. Our minibus takes you from there to the start of the walk.
For safety reasons this tour will be cancelled if there are strong onshore winds and/or heavy rain on the day. You will then be offered an alternative date or a refund.
This tour is normally scheduled for daytimes with low tides. Other dates or larger groups by arrangement, subject to our availability -- and favourable tide & weather conditions.
We can also do a shorter version of this tour for school groups.
