Explore historic ruins, tranquil scenery, wild landscapes, colonial mining techniques & history, back-road journeys, and the natural & human heritages that produced this picturesque region.

  • Comfortable enclosed walking or hiking shoes. Thongs, sandals or high heels are all unsuitable for this tour. Some of our walking is over uneven rough ground, up and down unpaved slopes, and around historic ruins. If it’s been raining recently there may also be mud. There’s some optional boulder-hopping at one of our stops.
  • Clothing appropriate for the weather forecast, including your own hat, sunscreen or raincoat. Click here for the Bureau of Meteorology’s weather forecast for the tour location. Umbrellas will be provided if needed on the day.
  • A camera. There’s lots to photograph!
  • Departures from Normanville, or from Victor Harbor (at extra cost due to our longer driving distance).
  • Tour duration is about 7 hours (Normanville, departing 9am) or about 8 hours (Victor Harbor, departing 8:30am).
  • This tour is not suitable for children under 8 years old.
  • This tour is also not suitable for anyone who has difficulties with mobility or balance.
  • Tour will be cancelled if the Parks or Forests are closed due to extreme or catastrophic fire danger, or if severe weather is forecast, or if there are insufficient bookings to operate this tour. In the event of a cancellation you will be given the options to either reschedule to another date or receive a full refund or convert to a Gift Voucher for this tour.
